A little about Nikki.

Portrait of Nikki, founder of Rainbow Healing Rays

Her story

For a long time, I thought healing meant fixing everything that was wrong with me: becoming stronger, happier, more confident, somehow a completely different person. After everything I have been through, I understand it differently now. Healing isn’t about becoming someone else. It is about coming back to yourself.

I have spent many years carrying things I didn’t realise I was carrying —

Childhood experiences

Things people said to me

Things that happened in relationships

Anger

Hurt

Fear

Guilt

Things I wished had been different

For years, I thought moving on meant forgetting. Now I understand that it doesn’t. You can remember something and still choose not to let it control your life. You can acknowledge that somebody hurt you without allowing that hurt to become who you are. And you can forgive without saying that what happened was okay.

“Sometimes forgiveness is something you give yourself.”

01 — Letting go

I used to think forgiveness was something you gave to another person. Now I see it differently.

When we hold onto anger and resentment, we can keep taking ourselves back into the same emotional pain — replaying the conversation, thinking about what we should have said, wondering why somebody treated us the way they did. Without realising it, we keep giving the past a place in our present.

Letting go doesn’t happen overnight. Sometimes you have to feel the anger first. Sometimes you have to cry. Sometimes you have to admit that something really hurt you, and grieve the childhood you didn’t have, the relationship you wished had been different, or the person you thought somebody would be. And that is okay.

You don’t have to pretend you are healed. You just have to be honest with yourself.

02 — The person I am now

My healing journey has taken me through meditation, Reiki, chakra work, affirmations, inner-child healing, spirituality, hypnotherapy, NLP and aromatherapy. I have practised Reiki since 2009, completed hypnotherapy training, and am a certified practitioner of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP). Hypnotherapy and NLP are part of the individual approach I offer through Rainbow Healing Rays, alongside Reiki. I am also continuing my studies in Ayurveda.

Every part of the journey has taught me something different. But the biggest lesson hasn’t come from a qualification or a book. It has come from living it.

I know what it feels like to question yourself, to feel that you are not good enough, and to carry things silently because you don’t know how to explain what is happening inside you. And I know what it feels like to slowly find yourself again. I am still learning. I am still growing. I am still human — but I no longer feel that I have to have everything figured out. I have learned to…

Listen to myself.

Slow down.

Be kinder to myself.

Let things go.

And most importantly, come back to my heart.

03 — Why I want to help others

I don’t believe I am here because I have all the answers. I believe I am here because I have walked my own path. I know what it is like to feel lost, to carry anger and hurt, and I know how powerful it can be when somebody simply listens without judging you.

That is what I want to offer through Rainbow Healing Rays: a safe space where you don’t have to pretend. A place where you can talk about what you’re carrying, where we can gently look at the thoughts, emotions and experiences that may still be affecting you — and then, step by step, begin to let some of that weight go.

04 — Her message to you

If you are reading this and you are carrying anger, hurt, guilt, fear or something from your past, I want you to know something: you are not your past. What happened to you may be part of your story, but it does not have to be the whole story.

You don’t have to forget. You don’t have to forgive before you are ready. You don’t have to rush your healing. Just start by being honest with yourself, and ask yourself:

01 What am I still carrying?
02 What am I ready to let go of?
03 What would it feel like to finally give myself permission to heal?

Sometimes healing begins with something very small.

One deep breath. One honest thought. One tear. One decision to stop blaming yourself. One moment where you choose peace instead of replaying the past.

And slowly, you begin to realise that the person you were looking for all along was you — the real you, the part of you that was still there underneath the fear, the hurt, the expectations and everything you had been carrying.

That is the journey I am still on. And maybe, in some small way, this can help you begin yours.

You don’t have to become someone else.
You just have to come back to yourself.

With love,
Nikki
